چکیده

Let Γ be an infinite, locally finite, connected graph with distance function δ. Given a ray P in Γ and a constant C ≥ 1, a vertex-sequence {xn}n=0 ⊆ V P is said to be regulated by C if, for all n ∈ N, xn+1 never precedes xn on P , each vertex of P appears at most C times in the sequence, and δP (xn, xn+1) ≤ C.

Study on the Interactions between Mechanical and Structural Properties of the Thermobonded Nonwovens

Thermobonding is widely used in producing of nonwovens. In this study various layers of thermobonded nonwovens were produced by altering the pressure, binder fibres and quality of blending. Mechanical properties of the so-called layers such as breaking strength and breaking elongation, bending rigidity and air permeability were assessed consequently. The structure of the layers was then studied...

Metric ends, fibers and automorphisms of graphs

Several results on the action of graph automorphisms on ends and fibers are generalized for the case of metric ends. This includes results on the action of the automorphisms on the end space, directions of automorphisms, double rays which are invariant under a power of an automorphism and metrically almost transitive automorphism groups. It is proved that the bounded automorphisms of a metrical...

Instability in the central region of tropomyosin modulates the function of its overlapping ends.

The causal link between disparate tropomyosin (Tm) functions and the structural instability in Tm is unknown. To test the hypothesis that the structural instability in the central region of Tm modulates the function of the overlapping ends of contiguous Tm dimers, we used transgenic mice (Tm(DM)) that expressed a mutant α-Tm in the heart; S229E and H276N substitutions induce structural instabil...

Kinetochore-driven outgrowth of microtubules is a central contributor to kinetochore fiber maturation in crane-fly spermatocytes

We use liquid crystal polarized light imaging to record the life histories of single kinetochore (K-) fibers in living crane-fly spermatocytes, from their origins as nascent K-fibers in early prometaphase to their fully matured form at metaphase, just before anaphase onset. Increased image brightness due to increased retardance reveals where microtubules are added during K-fiber formation. Anal...

Direct in situ observation of synergism between cellulolytic enzymes during the biodegradation of crystalline cellulose fibers.

High-resolution atomic force microscopy (AFM) was used to image the real-time in situ degradation of crystalline by three types of T. reesei cellulolytic enzymes-TrCel6A, TrCel7A, and TrCel7B-and their mixtures. TrCel6A and TrCel7A are exo-acting cellobiohydrolases processing cellulose fibers from the nonreducing and reducing ends, respectively. TrCel7B is an endoglucanase that hydrolyzes amorp...

Quasi-isometries between graphs and trees

Criteria for quasi-isometry between trees and general graphs as well as for quasi-isometries between metrically almost transitive graphs and trees are found. Thereby we use different concepts of thickness for graphs, ends and end spaces. A metrically almost transitive graph is quasi-isometric to a tree if and only if it has only thin metric ends (in the sense of Definition 3.6). If a graph is q...
